Age is a Feeling Monolog über das Leben von Haley McGee
Age is a feelingMonolog über das Leben von Haley McGee
At 25, our brain is fully developed.
At 25, we are conscious of our own mortality for the first time.
At 25, we already feel so grown up and yet still have most of our life to live: with all of its fateful and fleeting encounters, heartache, friendships that are supposed to last a lifetime but don’t, career decisions, missed opportunities, the desire to have children and the choosing of a partner, the deaths of our parents, everyday pleasures, illnesses, periods of self-discovery, huge failures and triumphant victories, quarrels and hurts, self-acceptance … and all the millions of little moments that make up our lives – until we die.
How often do we resolve to eat healthier and get more exercise? How much do we value the time we have? At what point in life do we reflect more on the past than we anticipate the future? Do we really know the people in our lives or only ever certain sides of them? And who knows every last detail about us?
With her Age is a Feeling solo show, award-winning Canadian author and performer Haley McGee presents a deeply moving, funny and wistful theatre text that is as multifaceted as life itself. Directed by Selina Girschweiler, the production invites the Oberhausen public to come together in the bar to experience a whole life in all of its fullness.
