Der Zauberer von Oz Familienstück nach dem Roman von L. Frank Baum
Der Zauberer von OzFamilienstück nach dem Roman von L. Frank Baum
Dorothy lives with her Aunt Em, Uncle Henry and dog Toto in Kansas. When she looks out the window, all she sees is grey, barren, flat prairie. What a bore! Then one day, a tornado sweeps over her home, carrying her and her house off to the wonderful land of Oz. There is much jubilation at her arrival, as her house has landed on the Wicked Witch of the East, freeing the Munchkins from her tyranny! Only her silver slippers are left poking out under the house. These now belong to Dorothy, according to the Good Witch of the North! She also tells her that only the mysterious wizard in the Emerald City can help her to return home – so Dorothy follows the yellow brick road leading to him. Along the way, she finds new friends who also need help: a tin man who longs for a heart, a scarecrow who dreams of a brain and a lion who lacks courage. The four head off together. But danger lurks along the way, as the Wicked Witch of the West is furious that Dorothy has landed on her sister from the East and is plotting her revenge. Will this new band of friends emerge unscathed from all their adventures and will the all-knowing Wizard of Oz be able to help them in the end?
The children’s classic by Lyman Frank Baum was first published in 1900 and gained worldwide fame by 1939 at the latest when it was turned into a Hollywood film starring Judy Garland. The highly imaginative story tells of the magic of friendship and the longing for change while showing that sometimes the journey is more rewarding than the destination! Chief set designer Franziska Isensee will again transport us to a magical world this winter, so that we can witness Dorothy’s adventure under the direction of Magdalena Schönfeld.
